Static GK in 2026: Countries, Capitals, Schemes, Important Days for Banking, SSC, and Railway Preparation

Static general knowledge is the most underrated scorer in banking, SSC, and railway exams. The syllabus does not change every year. The questions do. A candidate who builds the base by July walks into the exam with eight to twelve guaranteed marks.

The four pillars are countries and capitals, government schemes, important days, and books and authors. Add national symbols, dance forms, festivals, and stadiums for completeness. SBI Clerk, IBPS Clerk, RRB NTPC, and SSC CGL Tier 1 all draw from these five buckets.

Static GK rewards spaced repetition, not last-week panic.

Government schemes deserve a separate notebook. PM Vishwakarma covers eighteen traditional trades with over thirty lakh artisans registered as of August 2025. PM JANMAN carries a ₹24,104 crore outlay for 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. Each scheme has a launch date, a ministry, and a budget figure. All three are testable.

Adda247 and Testbook publish ten years of banking and SSC previous year question papers free of cost.

Important days for 2025 include World Braille Day on 4 January, International Day of Education on 24 January, International Women's Day on 8 March, and World Environment Day on 5 June. Memorise twelve dates a month. By March of the exam year you have covered the full calendar.

Pick one bucket this week, build a ten-page notebook, and revise it every Sunday for the next two months. That single habit converts static general knowledge from a weak section into your most reliable scorer. Lucent's General Knowledge remains the most-used single-volume reference, and pairing it with a daily flashcard app makes the recall effortless by exam day.
